Exorcism & Demonic Spirits:

Exorcism & Demonic Spirits:
Retired from a career with the NYPD, Ralph Sarchie now devotes his life to investigating cases of demonic possession and assisting in the exorcisms. The recent movie, Deliver Us from Evil, was inspired by Sarchie's investigative experiences and the often-dangerous paranormal investigations he's immersed himself in. The movie, which fictionalized elements from his book and real-life story, portrayed his career as a police officer going hand-in-hand with his exorcism work, but in reality he kept the two occupations separate, Sarchie said.
On Tuesday's show, he discussed several cases he's worked on, as well as the stages of demonic activity and possession. One such case he called "the Halloween of Horror," and it started out with a demonic spirit masking itself as the spirit of a deceased person. The entity singled out a woman in a family to focus on, and began telepathically communicating with her. As things progressed, it began to physically assault one of her children in order to break down her will so it could possess her. After about three months, the family sought out help and her exorcism was successful, Sarchie recounted, adding that he only works on cases where his participation is requested by the afflicted family.
The first stage of demonic interaction is called "infestation" where small or subtle phenomena occur such as scratching or tapping noises, or hearing your name called when you're alone, he detailed. The oppression/obsession stage is an acceleration of the infestation where, for instance, the tapping sound will have increased to a pounding, physical attacks occur, and the afflicted acts out negative or sinful behaviors. This can lead up to the possession stage where the person can no longer resist the demon, he continued. The late Father Malachi Martin told Sarchie that there's going to be rise in child possessions as a kind of chastisement, because parents aren't teaching their children about God, or turning to him.

Brazilian Town Run by Women Is Looking for a Few Good (Single) Men

Brazilian Town Run by Women Is Looking for a Few Good (Single) Men

Odd News
I'm sure many men have dreamed of an island completely populated by exotic women. Of course, fantasy is fantasy, but what if it were reality? In a certain regard, it is — in Noiva do Cordeiro, Brazil.
It's a scenic rural town in the hills outside of Belo Horizante with one big quirk, or perk, depending on whom you talk to. This Brazilian town is inhabited and governed almost entirely by women, its population consisting of more than 600 mostly single women aged 20 to 25. Sons are sent away at 18, and spouses are banned from the town except on weekends.
Now the women have made an appeal to bring more single men to the town. But there's one caveat: Men have to follow their rules. OK, that shouldn't be too hard to do. But the truth is that any incoming men have to follow all the guidelines that the women created, from town planning to farming, religion, and more.
The motivation for the way the town is set up is a direct result of its history: The town was founded in 1891 by Maria Senhorinha de Lima, who had been excommunicated as an adultress after leaving a man she had been forced to marry. Over time, she was joined by other single women and female-headed families, and the insular society came into being. In the 1940s, an evangelical pastor, Anisio Pereira, took one of the town's 16-year-old girls as his wife and founded a church there, imposing strict puritanical rules. When he died in 1995, the town's women determined that they would never again be subject to male domination, and they dismantled Pereira's church.
Resident Nelma Fernandes, 23, said, "The only men we single girls meet are either married or related to us…. We all dream of falling in love and getting married. But we like living here and don't want to have to leave the town to find a husband." If Web traffic is any indication of interested possible suitors, it appears that the town's plea worked: Its website went down because of all the visitors to the site. So, fellas looking for an opportunity like this, pack your bags — Brazilian girls are calling.

Alerting all single males: This town of beautiful women wants you
Appeal: These woman are looking for eligible bachelors (Picture: Facebook)
It’s the kind of news that could make Don Juan feel faint.
A Brazilian town that is entirely made up of young, ‘extremely attractive’ women has made an appeal – for single men.
Noiva do Cordeiro, in southeast Brazil, has a 600-strong population that is entirely female, with sons sent away at 18 and the few husbands only allowed in town on weekends.
And while that might sound perfect to some, the young women in the town are growing increasingly frustrated at the absence of men – and have made an appeal for eligible bachelors to step forward.

‘Here, the only men we single girls meet are either married or related to us, everyone is a cousin. I haven’t kissed a man for a long time,’ Nelma Fernandes, 23, told The Mirror.
‘We all dream of falling in love and getting married. But we like living here and don’t want to have to leave the town to find a husband.’
The unusual settlement was founded by Maria Senhorinha de Lima, branded an adulterer and excommunicated after fleeing her forced marriage.
Other women rejected by society joined her in isolation – and Noiva do Cordeiro was born.

A TOWN consisiting entirely of women has made an appeal for batchelors - but only those willing to live by female rules, it was reported today (wed)...Over 600 women make up the population of Noiva do Cordeiro, southeast Brazil - most aged between 20 and 35...Although some are married with families, their husbands are made to work away from home, only being allowed to return at weekends...Sons are sent away when they reach 18 and no other men are permitted to live in the town, which sits in a remote valley 60 miles east of Belo Horizonte...The settlement dates back to the 1890s, when a young woman and her family were excommunicated from the Catholic church after she was accused of adultery...Slowly more single women and mother-only families joined the community, and over the decades several attempts by men to intervere in their way of life made them adopt a strictly 'no male' policy...
The residents say the town is ‘prettier and more organised’ than it would be if men ran it (Picture: Facebook)
But before you book your flights, gents, there is a caveat:
‘Do what we say and live according to our rules,’ says Nelma.
‘There are lots of things that women do better than men. Our town is prettier, more organised, and far more harmonious than if men were in charge.
‘And there’s always time to stop and gossip, try on each other’s clothes and do each other’s hair and nails.’
Form an orderly queue, fellas.

How to Authorize a computer to play iTunes Store purchases

iTunes 10 for Mac: Authorize a computer to play iTunes Store purchases

This article has been archived and is no longer updated by Apple.
To play many purchases from the iTunes Store, you must authorize your computer using your Apple ID and password. (Authorization helps protect the copyrights of the purchased items.)
You can have up to five authorized computers (Macintosh, Windows, or both) at a time. To play a purchased item on a sixth computer, you need to deauthorize another one. An iPod, iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV doesn’t count as a computer.
You can authorize or deauthorize a computer at any time. Be sure to deauthorize a computer before you sell it or give it away.

Here are ways to authorize or deauthorize a computer:

  • To authorize a computer to play iTunes Store purchases, choose Store > Authorize Computer.
  • To deauthorize a computer, choose Store > Deauthorize Computer.
  • To deauthorize a computer to play spoken programs purchased from the Audible website, choose Advanced > Deauthorize Audible Account.
  • If you forgot to deauthorize a computer you no longer own, and you have five authorized computers, you can deauthorize all your authorized computers at once. You can use this method once a year.
Choose Store > View My Account, and click Deauthorize All. If you don’t see this option, it’s because you don’t have five authorized computers.
If you have trouble deauthorizing a computer, visit the iTunes Store Authorization FAQ website.
