ANTIKYTHERA MECHANISM

ANTIKYTHERA MECHANISM

The ANTIKYTHERA MECHANISM This curious mechanical device is often described as the World’s first analogue computer was retrieved by sponge divers off the coast of Antikythera in or around 1900AD.
Scientists all agree that the ANTIKYTHERA MECHANISM is real and that it dates the the 2nd century BC making it well over 2,000 years old. The ANTIKYTHERA MECHANISM comprises of a complex system of dials, gears and cogs of extraordinary precision. Experts agree that it represents a standard of production that would not be seen again until the rise of complex clocks and clockwork in the 18th century.
After many years of research the current thinking is that the ANTIKYTHERA MECHANISM was used as an astronomy calculator to predict and measure the movement and cycle of the planets in relationship to the Sun, Earth and the Moon. at one time. For decades after its rediscovery the importance of the find was overlooked until archaeologists and modern scientist began to appreciate the significance of such early mechanical sophistication.
Since then the ANTIKYTHERA MECHANISM has been x-rayed many times using evermore advanced equipment. Working reconstructions have been made and entire research groups established to unlock the secrets of its manufacture and its purpose.
ANTIKYTHERA MECHANISM’s existence has challenged many preconceived ideas regarding the technological abilities of the ancient civilisations.

I find that this device is an example of “scavenged technology” it was used for purposes much later than its intended purpose. It was indeed used as an computational device for a clockwork time piece.
I find it coincidental and very intriguing that this was found off the coast of Crete. This area has a unique historical record of ancient robots of immense size.
On the island of Crete was said to exist a robot named Talos, who hurled boulders at ships. If Talos did exist we might expect to find a scavenged piece of that technology lost in the nearby sea. Unless you follow “Greater Ancestry” such a find might not be compared to the historical records of Greater Technology.

What Is My IP Address?

What is an IP address?

Every device connected to the public Internet is assigned a unique number known as an Internet Protocol (IP) address. IP addresses consist of four numbers separated by periods (also called a 'dotted-quad') and look something like 127.0.0.1.
Since these numbers are usually assigned to internet service providers within region-based blocks, an IP address can often be used to identify the region or country from which a computer is connecting to the Internet. An IP address can sometimes be used to show the user's general location.

Because the numbers may be tedious to deal with, an IP address may also be assigned to a Host name, which is sometimes easier to remember. Hostnames may be looked up to find IP addresses, and vice-versa. At one time ISPs issued one IP address to each user. These are called static IP addresses. Because there is a limited number of IP addresses and with increased usage of the internet ISPs now issue IP addresses in a dynamic fashion out of a pool of IP addresses (Using DHCP). These are referred to as dynamic IP addresses. This also limits the ability of the user to host websites, mail servers, ftp servers, etc. In addition to users connecting to the internet, with virtual hosting, a single machine can act like multiple machines (with multiple domain names and IP addresses).

What is my Default Router IP Addresses?

By on June 9, 2010
Here's the scenario: you are trying to fix a relative's network issues and you need to access their router's browser interface. We've all been there, fruitlessly pecking in combinations of 192.168.x.x. Unless you have every default router address tattooed on your forearm, you'll eventually encounter one that stumps you.

When that happens, you can typically find the information with a simple command on Windows. Open the command prompt (Start > Run/Search for cmd) and then enter ipconfig. The address you need should be next to Default Gateway under your Local Area Connection, and it will often begin with 192.168.
If for any reason you can't retrieve the router's IP address using that method, we've compiled a brief list of popular router brands and their common default addresses. Feel free to recommend additional addresses in the comments and we'll add the information here as a handy reference resource for TechSpot members.  If you're looking for an equally handy default username and password list, this PDF has tons of information for just about every router manufacturer out there. Common default usernames include variations of admin (Admin, administrator, etc.), and the password is often admin, password, or simply left blank -- needless to say, it's good practice to change these upon setup. see alsoList of Router password http://www.answersthatwork.com/Download_Area/ATW_Library/Networking/Network__4-List_of_default_Router_Admin_Passwords_and_IP_addresses.pdf

Cancer is Not a Disease - It's a Survival Mechanism by Andreas Mortiz

Did you know that 95% of all cancers appear and disappear on their own, and that treating them actually prevents them from being cured? The prominent cancer researcher and professor at the University of California, Dr. Hardin Jones, admitted: "Patients are as well, or better off, untreated....My studies have proven conclusively that cancer patients who refuse chemotherapy and radiation actually live up to four times longer than treated cases, including untreated breast cancer cases."
In Cancer Is Not A Disease, bestselling author and internationally acclaimed health expert, Andreas Moritz, proves the point that cancer is not a separate illness, but the result of specific, identifiable causes. Removing these causes sets the precondition for the body, mind and emotions to become healed, meaning, whole again. Medical intervention, on the other hand, attempts to remove the symptoms of disease with almost complete disregard to their cause(s). This is not only unscientific and unethical, but also life endangering. Each year over 900,000 people in the U.S. lose their lives needlessly to medical treatment. Even one single dose of chemotherapy or radiation can be fatal for both the tumor and the patient. The success record of modern cancer therapy is dismal, even less than the weakest placebo response. On average, remission occurs in about 7% of all cancers, not because of, but despite these aggressive treatments.

Learn how to deal with cancer is a much more sensible and effective way than trying to fight or destroy it.

About the Author

Andreas Moritz is one of the world's leading experts on Integrative Medicine. He is a medical intuitive; a practitioner of Ayurveda, iridology, shiatsu, and vibrational medicine; a writer; and an artist. Born in southwest Germany in 1954, Moritz had to deal with several severe illnesses from an early age, which compelled him to study diet, nutrition, and various methods of natural healing while still a child.

Rather than being satisfied with merely treating the symptoms of illness, Moritz has dedicated his life’s work to understanding and treating the root causes of illness. Because of this holistic approach, he has had great success with cases of terminal disease where conventional methods of healing proved futile. His books and other healing modalities made available through this site are designed to help a person address the root causes of ill health and naturally support the body’s own healing abilities.
