Live chat: Susan Bennett, the 'voice' of Apple's Siri, today

Times reporter Yvonne Villarreal talks to Susan C. Bennett, the voice of Apple's voice-activated assistant Siri.
She's helped Zooey Deschanel identify the sound of rain. She's helped Samuel L. Jackson findorganic mushrooms for his risotto. Now Susan Bennett, the woman coming forth as the voice of Apple's steadfast assistant Siri, is going to answer our questions (and yours) today in a live chat. But it looks like Bennett took driving directions from Siri because she's going to be a bit late. The chat will now start at 3:00 p.m. Pacific.
Apple recently updated its mobile operating software, iOS 7, replacing the original Siri voice in the U.S. with a male and new female voice.
Bennett, a voice actress who hails from Atlanta, has become SEO gold after revealing that she is the robotic voice — and cultural phenomenon — that had given us directions and told us how many centimeters are in a foot since 2011. (Apple would not confirm Bennett as the voice of Siri, but CNNchecked out the claim with people who represent her legally and a veteran audio-forensics expert, who analyzed Bennett's and Siri's voices and found a 100% match.)
